**INTRODUCTION:**

In the versatile field of beauty, a makeup tutorial video from celebrated makeup artist, Lisa Eldridge, beautifully demonstrates the art of creating a fresh, youthful, and glowing makeup look. Eldridge dives into every detail from skin prep to the finishing touches, providing expert advice and unique techniques throughout the entire process. This article unravels the wisdom imparted in the video and offers readers a chance to recreate this stunning look at home.

**STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE:**

1. **Prepping the Skin:** Eldridge starts by cleansing the face and applying a light layer of hyaluronic serum. This preps the skin by keeping it hydrated and providing a smooth canvas for makeup.

2. **Foundation Application:** She then utilizes a lightweight, moisturizing foundation and blends it effortlessly into the skin using a makeup brush. This technique lends a ‘lit from within’ glow to the skin.

3. **Concealing:** Eldridge follows by applying concealer sparingly, only on areas that require additional coverage like dark circles or any skin blemishes.

4. **Blush and Highlight:** For a youthful look, she uses cream blush on the apples of the cheeks and a dewy highlighter on the high points of the face.

5. **Eye Makeup:** Eldridge goes for a soft, natural look with eyeshadow in neutral tones, a quick sweep of mascara, and a brush through the brows with a clear brow gel.

6. **Lipstick Application:** To complete the look, Eldridge swipes on a natural-looking lipstick in a warm, flattering shade.

**KEY TIPS AND ADVICE:**

Among the hub of valuable tips, Eldridge’s emphasis on skin-like makeup and minimalist approach stands out. She recommends using a light base and applying concealer conservatively to avoid a cakey finish. Her unique method of applying cream blush before setting powder ensures longer wear and a natural, skin-like finish.

**CONCLUSION:**

The ideas communicated by Eldridge seem to gravitate towards the philosophy of enhancing one’s natural beauty rather than covering it up. She encourages experimentation and endorses the beauty of individuality, reinforcing her status as an empowering voice in the beauty industry.

**PRODUCT AND TOOL LISTING:**

1. **Skin Prep:** A light hyaluronic serum to prep the skin before makeup.
2. **Foundation:** A lightweight, moisturizing formula for a fresh and glowing complexion.
3. **Conceal**: Concealer to selectively cover any imperfections.
4. **Blush**: A cream blush for a youthful glow.
5. **Highlighter**: Dewy highlighter for natural-looking radiance.
6. **Eyes**: Neutral eyeshadow, mascara, and a clear brow gel for a soft and natural eye look.
7. **Lips**: Natural-toned lipstick for a flattering finish.

This article condenses the wisdom from Eldridge’s makeup tutorial into an easily digestible format, making it accessible and inspiring for makeup enthusiasts of all levels. Remember, makeup is a medium of self-expression and should be fun, so don’t be afraid to experiment!

I have super dry skin and Rosacea. I find my makeup on my nose and especially the apples of my cheeks doesn't last.. It basically flakes off, but stays on everywhere else. Should I be using more prep on that part of my face? I have 50 spf foundation. I don't use face primer.. Perhaps that would help?

I’ve tried this before for months and I can say it’s amazing. Before my makeup would dry up so bad even after my skin care and it would separate. I honestly thought it was just my ugly skin doing this and hated wearing foundation. After doing this, it’s been a game changer and my make up looks flawless and also lasts ALL day. It’s amazing. I came back to this bc I stopped doing it since I ran out of translucent powder but now I’m back to it and doing it again. I definitely recommend doing this!!!!

I love watching him now that I am 40 for my make up routine needed to change and I got a lot of tips and I’m still getting tips. One thing I hate is foundation once we get older we have to change your foundation routine extremely because we’re not 20 anymore and our skin is not the same anymore. He’s right though about all the layers of product, but the one that I don’t agree with is moisturiser, I always use moisturiser no matter what and I try to get a sunscreen moisturiser combo if possible if not, then well, I make my own

I have a bunch of acne scarring, when I first leave my house my makeup looks Perfectly the way I want it too. But after a few hours it looks like I didn’t put on anything and my redness worsens! 😢 I’ll try this and see if it works

This makes sense. I just don't even bother trying to make makeup look good or last over sunscreen. Makeup is supposed to be an improvement. Over sunscreen, it's just a nasty greasy mask 🤮 Contour moves, concealer moves, it's not an improvement. Better just sunscreen and no makeup or wear it indoors or after dark for me. I've tried and tried and tried. Cannot make that mess work 😂

Over 50 here with dry skin. I use eye cream by Clarins, then an antioxidant serum, like Skinceuticals, give it five minutes, and then use Elta MD SPF. I've been using this sunscreen for years as I can get different levels of moisturizer to adjust to the seasons. Anything more and it's gone by noon.

I agree with everyone Wayne is awesome. My issue I apply make up and 15 mins I can’t even see it. It just absorbs in my sink. So aggravating.

If I would put so many products on before make up, I would get perioral (periorificial) dermatitis. It is too much, not many people can handle this long term every day on their skin. Not surprising so many have now serious problems with their skin, it has to be able to breathe. Companies are selling their products and we don’t know with using so much, how would it effect our skin long term?!

  • Posted May 22, 2024 5:20 pm
    by @MsViollentia

I can’t handle any sort of primer actually. I bought Bobbi Brown’s primer (enriched with Vitamin E?) which smells great but (whether you apply foundation or nothing at all) it feels like the face is not breathing bcz it starts feeling hot. I like Clarins’ Rose tinted moisturizing cream bcz it has a pinky touch and feels weightless and breathable.

I myself found out that the more product you apply to your skin, especially skin care, the more your skin gets oily after a time. I have a combination to oily skin

whhaaattt so we were lied to?? lol I'm pretty sure I've seen tons of make up video saying you have to hydrate your skin prior make up. that being said using tons of skincare products. no wonder my make up looks terrible after 5 min 😓

Does anyone have advice for dry AND oily skin? My skin tends to get oily over the course of the day, but the climate where I live has such low humidity that no moisturiser routine in the world can prevent it from flaking, especially on the nose and around blemishes. So I'm just kind of trying my best to keep it moisturised and have pretty much given up on any make up that isn't lips or eyes and a very conservative amount of powder :/

I know i'm super late to this video- but this really makes me question what is up with all of the dewy settings sprays, and then the primers that don't completely dry down and still feel sort of tacky when you use them. After watching this video I feel like I shouldn't be using either of those anymore!! Because yes, I use both and then wonder why my makeup moves around throughout the day 😭😭😭

Sunscreen is a scam 🙂 Check to see who funds the studies that show otherwise. The sun is demonized to keep society sick! We would not burn if our diets didn’t include awful ingredients & industrial seed oils! If it is needed stick to only zinc. I used carrot seed oil and other ingredients with natural SPF and make my own at home ❤️

I was wondering how I was going to cope with our 32 Celsius degrees we have in Abidjan. You don’t even leave your bedroom you start sweating. Thankfully that is the wrong thing to do 😆
