This comprehensive tutorial covers everything, from base foundation application to the perfect smokey eye complemented with a matte lip.
Step-by-Step Guide:
1. Start with a clean, moisturized face: Jane emphasizes starting with a freshly cleansed and moisturized face to prevent makeup from looking cakey.
2. Prime your face: Apply a good primer evenly on your face using your fingers. This helps your makeup to last longer and look smoother.
3. Apply Foundation: Using a damp beauty blender, apply your foundation evenly over your face, ensuring you blend the product well into your neck and hairline.
4. Concealer and Contouring: Apply concealer under your eyes, on the chin, the forehead and on the bridge of your nose. Following this, contour your face using a contour stick.
5. Set your base: Use a translucent loose powder to set your foundation and concealer.
6. Eye Makeup: Start by applying a nude eyeshadow over your eyelid as a base, followed by darker tones at the edges for a smokey effect. Remember to blend well to avoid stark lines.
7. Eyeliner and Mascara: Apply eyeliner along your upper and lower lash line and finish with a volumizing mascara.
8. Lipstick: Prep your lips with a lip balm to make them smooth and then apply a matte lipstick of your choice.
Key Tips and Advice:
One of the major makeup tips emphasized by Jane is the importance of blending. According to her, the secret to a natural and flawless look is in the perfect blend. When it comes to face makeup, she insists on the use of a beauty blender dampened with setting spray to blend foundation and concealer, ensuring a smooth, airbrushed finish.
Conclusion:
This makeup tutorial provides a step-by-step guide to nailing a standout look suitable for all occasions. The key message: Makeup application need not be complicated, but instead, be seen as a platform to experiment and express yourself creatively. Im the lightest shade of foundation i need a whote concealer 😭
With my mature dry undereyes, i use corrector for dark circles and choose concealer 1/2 shade lighter to avoid ashy look and minimize noticeable "creasiness". My goal is minimal thin layers of product
You have any hints or tips of what somebody whose face skin color is the same color as the palest foundation? What can we do? But even the paylist concealer is the same color as my skin, it is not light at all..
Should I just add white foundation to it? Or any brand recommendations?I'm a very fair with pink cool undertones
Facts!!!! Sephora employees love to suggest only going up 1 shade or matching your foundation, which is okay for covering acne and such. But going up 2 shades and trying to go with a more rose or pink shade is best for under eye brighting
This is ONLY for under eye brightening. Spot concealing you want to go with your foundation shade. Also as of late trends have strayed away from such a drastic shade contrast to avoid looking like you wear an eye mask so I definitely agree with seeing the tone next to each other
This does not help at all
Thank you! I knew that. And people tell me no.
Im thinking no it needs lighter for brighter anf the color
Base tone. ! Pink, peach, neutral or dark skinned.
I barely ever conceal my undereyes. I’m more concerned with random blemishes. I don’t understand why people only focus on undereye concealing.
I like your channel, but on this one you said a lot… give a color give you concealer show that’s what you’re talking about. Don’t give 14 colors and 14 concealers exaggeration, but to the point… that doesn’t help.
With me I'm very fair so it's really hard to find anything that's touched lighter than me I just have a hard time when it comes to concealer it's either too dark cuz I can't go louder than my skin because I'm a hearty very fair if you have any tips please let me know and I love your videos you are just so cute y'all make a very beautiful Happy Thanksgiving I'm just now seeing this
Question: can you go over “hidden” common allergy, in makeup?
For example, I have several allergies, with apples, and apple byproducts, being the most severe and causing anaphylaxis. I know a couple people, who are allergic to cocoa and chocolate products. When reading a label, food is relatively easy to find allergens. However, with makeup and beauty products, it’s harder to figure out, because of the way the ingredients are listed; they are listed, typically, in a more scientific way. I would like to use a little makeup, but I am scared, because I have gotten into products, that cause my allergies to flare, and leave me a swollen, red mess. Allergies and ingredient sensitivities are rarely discussed, and I would love straight forward guides and suggestions. Eyes that are swollen shut, anaphylaxis, and hives aren’t pretty, and bad reactions make it so I don’t want to try anything, for fear of needing medical attention, or several doses of Benadryl. Please help!
I did not know that. Thanks
I am a light warm undertone but I love a cool (pink) toned concealer to color correct and brighten my undereyes 😊
What if u don't use foundation?
I love learning from you! Thank you! 😊
Try being the lightest foundation shade.. Can't go any lighter with concealer 😅
So anyone that wants to try that concealer now has whatever was on ur hands. Y wud u do that? Yes u can test the products out but y wudnt u use a qtip so u aren’t putting on ur hands and then putting that wand back in the tube?
Unfortunately, I'm usually the palest shade in most concealers so I can't go to shades lighter, and the rare times I found shades that do go lighter, it makes me look like a washed out ghost and actually accentuates my under eye circles. So I usually have to go for something that matches my shade.
What if there aren’t two shades lighter?
This doesn’t help
What if you don’t wear foundation, just concealer?
They don’t make a concealer 2 shades lighter than my foundation
What about if you are already in the lightest shade of the foundation? (RMS in shade 000 and Lisa Eldridge Foundation in shade 1 are my matches)😔
how about the best conceler for us extream dark circle folks?
That's impossible. They don't make a shade light enough when yor pale….I have to skip it bc it's to yellow.
I have a lighter concealer to highlight and a concealer my shade to.. conceal pimples or other imperfections.
When you are already the lightest foundation shade 😢
When I do a lighter shade my under eyes end up looking grey but when I do the same shade as my face my under eyes end up looking kinda orange. What am I doing wrong?
Bright shades over accebtuate the fine lines in your under eye
I found my concealer shade through trial and error . And the lighter shade thing I do on areas I want to highlight.
???? If you're covering blemishes choose something the same shade or one shade darker, dark circles also look shit with a super light concealer
That’s a pretty good one but I would like to see you talk about concealer matching when it comes to African-American women and Hispanic American women and Indian American women as well
I don't agree with that method, I am indian and we are prone to hyperpigementation and dark circles. I fall in that category of severe dark purple/blue under eyes, and I look like someone punched me. I have lived all my life with my family that criticize my under eyes about what I need do or what to eat. I have tried many skincare products. I have been told by my Dr to try fillers that did help but not enough. It helped with the fullness but not enough to be paying out of pocket for something that only helps 30% of my under eye issues. Even with color corrector, the darkness peaks through. I use similar or 1 shade darker to color corrector and then use a concealer similar to my foundation. I use translucent powder that brightens. Nothing can mask the dark circles even with corrector and concealer. If I can fully cover the dark circles, I then walk around heavy under eye creases and caked on concealer. My skin under my eyes doesn't like heavy full coverage. It just sits on my face, while medium coverage sits better. I have tried every concealer on the market, currently liking haus labs and clinique concealers since they cover and also help with creasing along with having plenty of shades that I can pick the tones I like. Currently tried Mario concealers, and I didn't like. When I return Mario, I will be picking up Natasha denona concealers.
Ahhhhhhh ok. This is why I come to you ❤❤❤
Also- this is exactly why you dont put testers on your face.
I’m dead 😵 … all these damn decades of wearing makeup and my goofy self never thought to swatch my foundation while in the store to find the right concealer 🤦🏽♀️. I’m always doing the most and be upset when I get home…thanks for sharing this info 🙌🏽.
Buffet of concealer LOL. My daughter brought her girlfriend into my bedroom for the first time after they've been dating for 3 years. I don't know what that was about, but anyways, she wasn't literally shocked. She's like I've never seen so much makeup. And i'm like, really, because I got rid like of like seventy five per cent l o l… I guess I still have a buffet…😂😂
Most people wear concealer to cover up blemishes, if you’re covering up blemishes your concealer should be the same shade as your foundation
i love y’all ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🩷🩵🤍
❤️💄💄
What if you’re super fair? Most of my foundations are fair rose. I get the lightest concealer. But I do notice that much under eyes get kind of green grey I’ve tried brighteners and color correction. I feel like I’m missing something. Any tips?
Air is the only thing lighter than my foundation shade! Now what? 👻🥹😰
Thank you 😜😘
I usually recommend two options. I say either brightening and lifting or just conceal?
It’s very hard to do in Sephora. Any ideas on why the lighting is that bad?
Oh bejeebs yesss finally lay it on us we need these details our moms didn’t have time to pass on❤
If you aren’t wearing foundation and just using concealer for redness and under eye circles. Should you still go 2 shades lighter? For the under eyes?
Also does 2 shades lighter mean if you are medium tan -> medium -> medium light. Use medium light?
I thought concealers are there to "conceal" thus it should be the same shade with your foundation or else it would look like you had a bright glob of cream on your face. However if you really want to brighten your under eyes you can use a brightening powder.
