In this article, we’re going to unpack the secrets behind the finesse of those perfect lashes and seamless eyeliner application featured in her video. Buckle up for tips, trades, and techniques that elevate your makeup game a notch higher!

**Step-by-Step Guide**

1. **Start fresh:** First, Claire insists on starting with clean, moisturized skin to provide the perfect canvas for makeup. She used a gentle cleanser and her favorite moisturizer to prep her face.

2. **Prime time:** Next, she applied a skin-smoothing primer, using a sponge for even distribution, emphasising the crucial role it plays in enhancing the longevity of your makeup.

3. **Foundation & Concealer:** With a beauty blender, Claire then applied her foundation, ensuring all areas were evenly covered. Then she strategically placed concealer under her eyes, the bridge of her nose and chin.

4. **Contour & Highlight:** After blending the concealer, she added depth and highlight to her face using contouring and highlighting techniques with a bronzer and a lighter shade of concealer, respectively.

5. **Eye makeup:** She took us through the spectacular journey of applying eyeshadow (a shimmering gold), highlighting the inner corners, and creating the perfect winged liner with a jet-black eyeliner. The cat-eye effect was completed with a generous coating of volumizing mascara.

**Key Tips and Advice**

Claire reveals her secrets to achieving the perfect cat-eye, focusing heavily on steady hand movements and aligning the wing with the lower lash line for symmetry. She also emphasized the importance of blending during the contouring process, asserting it makes the difference between a natural-looking finish and evident makeup lines.

I had a wedding to go to and I'd been trying various smokey eye tutorials and failing miserably. Two hours before the event, I tried this tutorial with πŸ’― success. Everybody loved my makeup. It wasn't OTT, and I didn't look like a 🐼 Thanks so much for a very helpful video.
A tip for those struggling with eye makeup: start with the eyes. Once that's done it'll be a breeze to do the rest of the face. All makeup videos do the face first but honestly, tackle the hardest bit first I say, get it out of the way. Using this tip I was able to get ready well before the deadline!

What pencil are you using? Every pencil I've ever tried is super hard and doesn't really transfer to my skin. I would also love tips on adding pencil to the waterline – I've never been able to do that without poking myself in the eye
