Introduction:
In the pulsating world of beauty, the evolution of makeup art can be simply breathtaking – with fresh trends popping every so often. A crystal clear guide to successfully mastering the art of makeup makes it all the more exciting. In this YouTube makeup tutorial video presented by renowned beauty guru Alexa Chung, you will obtain invaluable nuggets of wisdom about the perfect daytime makeup look. It’s all about creating a naturally fresh and radiant appearance by harnessing the art of subtleness and intricate blending techniques.

Step-by-Step Guide:
1. Start by prepping the skin. Using a facial primer is crucial, especially in a daytime makeup look, which needs to last all day. Alexa applied a hydrating primer to keep the skin radiant.
2. Alexa then applied a tinted moisturizer all over her face. She preferred using tinted moisturizer since the lightness allows your skin to breathe while also giving it an even tone.
3. The next step was concealing. By using a concealer slightly lighter than her skin tone, Alexa was able to brighten her under-eye area, bridge of the nose, and corners of the mouth.
4. Alexa then demonstrated how to set everything up using a compact powder applied lightly all over the face.
5. With the base done, the eyes came next. Alexa started with a warm brown eyeshadow as a base, livening it up with gold in the middle of the eyelid – an ingenious way of making the eyes pop in the sunlight.
6. She then moved onto the brows, emphasizing a natural, well-groomed look. A brow-gel was used to tame any stray hairs.
7. The blush came next. Alexa swept a peachy shade across her cheeks for a fresh-faced glow.
8. Alexa finished her look with a dab of pink lip balm for a natural lip color.

Key Tips and Advice:
Alexa offered plenty of advice throughout her tutorial, notably stressing the importance of creating a strong base that allows your skin to breathe. Following this, she shared the trick of using a concealer lighter than your skin tone to illuminate the face subtly. The use of warm and golden tones on the eyes during the day was another great tip for those wanting their eyes to stand out.

Conclusion:
In a nutshell, Alexa Chung’s makeup tutorial emphasizes the attraction of embracing a more natural, glowy look for daytime makeup, during which less is indeed more. Her humble advice and easy-to-follow tutorial are all about empowering the viewers to create this gorgeous daily look. She encourages her viewers to play and experiment with different colors and brushes until they find what works best for them.

hey hey, i have really extreme dark circles, and from what ive seen i have to use both the color correcting concealer and a liquid one. is it important to have them both at hand? or would a liquid concealer suffice?

I can't use anything on my face (other than my eyes and lip) because my skin has acne and big pores. And it's really sensitive so it'll make my skin break 😭

Ive been only using lipstick for make up but people always say I look great because of my natural beauty. Should i go more into makeup or should i just add blush, eyelash, highlighter and eyeshadow?

My favourite makeup product is powder foundation. If you have any sort of skincare routine – which has absolutely become mainstream these days – you can just dust some powder foundation all over your face while your moisturizer is still a bit wet. Your skincare acts as a primer, especially if it has SPF! Sometimes, I put on concealer before the powder. This is perfect for a "no-makeup" or super fast look. From there, all I do is put on a bit of light-handed eyeliner and blush, maybe add a small touch of eyeshadow, and finish with lip balm. That makeup look, including the skincare, can all come together in about five minutes! The only makeup that I use regularly is my moisturizer with SPF, concealer, powder foundation, lip balm, eye liner, blush (which I only started adding recently), and sometimes nude eyeshadow. Everything else is for special occasions.

My first ever "makeup kit" was a soft pink eyeshadow palette and a tube of clear mascara. I BEGGED my mom to let me wear makeup when I was in grade school, and that's what she picked out for me. I still have the eyeshadow almost 20 years later! ❤Then, when I started "for real", I used dollar store products. Maybe not the safest, but it was a fun way to experiment in my teens. I finally graduated to department store makeup, and eventually drugstore makeup. And every once in a while, I'll take a peek at makeup stores to see if they have a house brand or a nice sale. But when you're starting out, you don't need to spend much money at all!

I know this video is old, but my everyday makeup consists of super basic stuff: sunscreen, foundation, concealer, pressed powder, nude eyeshadow, brow pencil, mascara and blush. That's all I use on most days and I think it's a good little kit for beginners (i am certainly NOT a beginner). Primer is always a luxury and not necessary in my opinion, especially if you have a good skincare routine. Loose powder is also terrible for beginners because it gets everywhere and in the wrong hands (ie. beginner hands) ends up looking cakey. I feel like contouring and highlighting is also not a necessity for a beginner, just start with the basics first, then get into more intermediate to advanced techniques.

Always use sunscreen!!! Especially if you are pale, and even more so if your skin is extremely pale. Sun damage sucks! You can also use primer to blur pores ❤

Also I have used revolution baking powder in the shade banana. I KID U NOT ITS SO NICE, it blurs out my skin, not drying at all (unless you have very dry skin), matte, no flash backs. Btw I’m olive toned. The down side is that if you have excess powder left to be used later on, the packaging can get messy so make sure you don’t have excess left. I only use it for my concealer and I use a powder puff, or those cushion puff (for better application). I purchased it like 3 years ago and I still have it (I have 3/4 left). MY FAVORITE
