Introduction:
In the YouTube video titled “Smoky Eye Tutorial for Beginners,” makeup artist and influencer Kelsey Smith illuminates the artistry of capturing the perfect smoky eye in the most simplified yet comprehensive manner. If you’ve ever wished to master the intimidating smoky eye look to amp up your beauty game, this article will decipher Kelsey’s tutorial, guiding you through each step while highlighting her invaluable beauty insights.
Step-by-Step Guide:
Kelsey begins by prepping her eyelids with a concealer; she sponges it evenly across her lids to create a smooth canvas. This step brings out the true pigment of the eyeshadows used and prevents them from creasing. Next, she uses a flat brush to apply a matte taupe eyeshadow as a base.
She blends this shade with a fluffy brush, creating a smooth gradient. Moving on to the crease, she uses a slightly darker matte brown shade to add depth and dimension. She uses a smaller blending brush to concentrate the color in her crease and outer V area.
The star of the show is the black eyeshadow, which she carefully applies using a flat brush, starting at the outer corner gradually extending it to the lower part of her lid.
Lastly, Kelsey uses a clean blending brush to merge the black and brown shades, ensuring no harsh lines are left behind. To elevate the look, Kelsey adds shimmer in the inner corner and the brow bone for highlighting.
Key Tips and Advice:
Kelsey underscores the importance of blending since the secret to a good smoky eye lies in smooth transitions between colors. She also advises practicing this look with thriftier eyeshadows as mastering the smoky eye is a journey of trial and error.
Conclusion:
In essence, Kelsey’s tutorial simplifies the smoky eye, transforming it from an intimidating look into a makeup task that anyone can achieve with a little practice. Her tutorial reaffirms that the beauty lies in summarizing intricate looks into simple steps.
