Introduction

The YouTube video, “Your Ultimate Guide to Flawless Makeup,” unlocks exclusive secrets to achieving a sophisticated and fresh makeup look. This article offers an exciting gateway into the world of beauty as shared by popular makeup artist Sophie Perkins. You’re promised a step-by-step breakdown of how to perfect an everyday, versatile look, sprinkling in some golden nuggets of advice to get you ready to face the world with confidence.

Step-by-step Guide

1. Skin Preparation: Sophie starts by emphasizing the importance of a well-hydrated and cleansed face. She recommends a gentle cleanser and a lightweight moisturizer to lay a good base for makeup application.

2. Foundation: She uses Maybelline’s Fit Me foundation, gently stippling it onto her skin with a makeup sponge to achieve a natural finish.

3. Concealer: Next, she applies NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer to hide dark circles and spots, blending it well with the foundation.

4. Contour & Highlight: Sophie opts for NYX’s Contour & Highlight Palette. She expertly carves out her cheekbones and forehead and highlights the high points of her face, creating defined but natural-looking dimensions.

5. Eye & Brow Makeup: Sophie accents her eyes with MAC’s Soft Ochre Eyeshadow, completing the look with Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer to frame her face.

6. Blusher & Lipstick: Finally, a sweep of Hourglass’s Ambient Lighting Blush adds a healthy blush, while Mac’s Velvet Teddy finishes the look with a neutral lip shade.

Key Tips and Advice

– Sophie insists on the importance of skin prep, stating, “Great makeup starts with great skin.”
– Blending with a damp sponge can avoid a cakey look and gives a flawless finish.
– When it comes to brows, Sophie tells us, “Don’t underestimate the power of a good brow. It’s like a picture frame for your eyes.”

Conclusion

In this video, Sophie does more than shed light on the steps for an effective makeup routine; she emphasizes the individuality of makeup, allowing room for creativity and adaptation according to personal features and preference. Her pro tips can equate to dramatic improvements in your makeup game.

This may be the most comprehensive cut crease tutorial I've seen. Love the explanations about different brushes, creating where a false crease is with the liner…. This was an anti-anxiety video for me

HI WHITNEY. LOVE ALL YOUR VIDEOS! YOU MENTIONED BIGGER EYES – I'M SURE YOU'VE HEARD OF EYELID LIFTS RIGHT OR BLEPHAROPLASTY, I WHICH IS THE TECHNICAL NAME. IT'S A VERY STANDARD PROCEDURE THAT YOU CAN GET IT NOW AT A YOUNG AGE OR WAIT WHEN YOU'RE OLDER (WHEN EYELIDS ARE MORE MATURE & SAGGY) AND GET IT DONE THEN. EYELID LIFTS ARE VERY GOOD IN OPENING UP YOUR EYES AND MAKING THEM LOOK BIGGER NO MATTER THE ACTUAL SIZE OF YOUR EYES.- AND SPECIALLY BENEFICIAL FOR HOODED OR PROTRUDING LIDS. JUST MAKE SURE YOU GO TO A BOARD CERTIFIED SURGEON & SEE LOTS OF PICS OF THEIR OWN WORK IF YOU EVER DECIDE TO GET IT :DONE )

Whitney Whitney Whitney. How have you just explained transitioning and layering eyeshadow with the right brushes in the simplest way- it's been a proper lightbulb moment for me. I've been doing my make up for a loooooong time and I dread to think how many hours of my life have been spent watching makeup tutorials but noone has ever made it click like you just have. I used to love doing eyeshadow and in the last few years have been unhappy with the results- my eye/lid shape has changed! I feel like an idiot for persisting with old techniques but am so grateful for your in-depth explanations. Your makeup is always phenomenal and you make SO MUCH SENSE!! About make up and about life in general.
    Love you girl 💖

This is the best and most in-depth tutorial on this technique for hooded eyes I've seen! Thank you for this. I've been hesitant to even play around with this since I have much less space on my good than you do, but as another commenter said, I can go old school 80s and take it higher to my brow. With glasses, it might even look good.

Question: I have very small, squinty eyes. I've always heard I shouldn't line or use eye shadow across my whole lower lash and should only do outer 1/3 or 1/2 at the most to not shrink my eyes, so I stopped years ago. True? False?

I haven't done a cut crease in so long. Last time I was doing one, my youngest 3 sons got into a fight and thought it was the UFC. Makeup session was immediately over, and I looked like an institutionalized patient for the rest of the day.

Yes pls do the Smokey cut crease and an eyeliner for hooded eyes pls!!!!! These videos have been so helpful and should b more addressed. Hooded eyes is such a minority and does not get the attention needed to feel beautiful like all other eye shapes!!!
